Mitchel Washer

Mitchell Lee Washer, 64, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd. He was born May 20, 1961, the son of Monroe Washer and Dorothy Washer. He worked for Ford Truck Plant in Louisville for over 25 years. A "jack of all trades" who never stopped learning, Mitchell was a man of deep passions and even deeper reliability. Whether he was showing off his vintage Fords at a local car show, meticulously working as a licensed gunsmith, or tinkering with small engines, he possessed the rare ability to build or fix anything he touched. A true history buff with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, he was as opinionated as he was compassionate—a man that will never be forgotten. He touched the lives of every person he met. He was always someone that would lend a helping hand. He always had others in mind, even before himself. He truly was the most caring soul. However, his heart belonged to his family; he was a steadfast presence whose greatest joy was the time spent with his family and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Johnny Washer & Ralph Bandy, and Sue Washer Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Laurie Bement Washer, children: Amanda Coffman (Jason), Joshua Washer, Taylor Huber (Christopher), Grandchildren: Radia and Briar Coffman, Brothers; Spencer (Mary) and Grover (Liz) Washer, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family.
